East Coast Weekend

Rick Springfield toured the East Coast this weekend on his Working Class Tour with Eddie Money and Scandal. From Atlanta, to Boston, to New Hampshire. Not a lot of detail from the 3 shows, so we'll just try to sum it up in one post. Rick played the Chastain Park Ampitheater on 6/29, where the rain came down, but didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits. This venue allows people to bring in food and drink, and a lot of people tend to make a real party out of it, which also generates a more rowdy crowd than usual.
The next day it was on to the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston. This was the only show of the 3 that was treated to a 2 song encore (Wasted and Love is Alright Tonite), along with the usual set list. [there was actually a time when a 3 song encore was the norm, now we seem to jump for joy if we get two]
The weekend was wrapped up in Gilford, NH at the Meadowbrook Musical Arts Center. The last two shows were close enough in distance that many of the fans attended both. Rick ended the night doing the encore in a Boston Red Sox t-shirt. Apparently Rick was also getting over bronchitis (which he seems to have every time he goes to the East Coast - what up with that??), so we hope he is well when he heads out again this weekend.
For pictures from the weekend, be sure to check out the picture spotlight today and for the rest of the week.
