17 Days

With seventeen days left until Milwaukee, we come to the shows that took place in 2003. Two shows back to back were great, three shows back to back will be better, right? Damn right. I always felt like this was the year that set the standard for this type of show (multiple nights in one town). And this was the year that the "secret" kind of came out, and every year after, the fans have been rather wild, and in my opinion the shows have never quite lived up to the shows from 2003 (and yes, feel free to argue this point in the comments section).
First night (March 20), pretty much right out of the box and quite unexpectedly, we get a song that was from the upcoming album. Talk about a mixed bag.....the first song we heard from the upcoming cd was "idontwantanythingfromyou" (hard, angry rock), then just a month prior we get our first taste of "Alien Virus" (bluesy and a little weird), and now we are given "Angels of the Disappeared" (soft, touching ballad). It really did leave us wondering just what this new cd was going to be like.
This was also one of the first times Rick made mention of the promise of "naked night" (for the next night). He's never quite followed through with that :-)
I also think that this might be the longest that Rick's hair has been since the 80's (just a random thought).
The set list from this show was as follows:
Affair of the Heart
I've Done Everything for You
Alyson
The Medley
Angels of the Disappeared
idontwantanythingfromyou
Me and Johnny
Some Enchanted Evening
Karma
State of the Heart
Love Somebody
Gloria (bathtub)
Don't Talk to Strangers
I Get Excited
My Sharona
Human Touch
Jessie's Girl
Hello Young Lovers
You Really Got Me
Love is Alright Tonite
(not all songs were performed in their entirety)
More pictures from this show can be found in the concert section.
You can see in one of those pictures were Rick decided to play slide with the neck of a broken beer bottle.

Right now, it looks like ticketmaster is showing Saturday night to be sold out, and only a limited number of seats available for Friday (balcony).
If you haven't gotten tickets and decide to go at the last minute, a good place to find tickets at face value is on the RickSpringfieldForever Yahoo Group.
